Eliminate Signs of Aging With The Facelift Procedure

We all experience the aging process. While facial aging is natural and cannot be avoided, facelift surgery offers people a chance to age beautifully. What Can A Facelift Surgery Do For Me?

Facelift surgery smoothes lines and wrinkles in your face and neck, tightens the muscles of your face to allow removal of loose skin under your chin and jaw, and may remove excess fat to create a more refreshed and rested appearance. Face lift surgery cannot stop the aging process, but it can make you look 10 or more years younger and the results are visible for the remainder of your life.

Am I A Candidate For Facelift Surgery?

Facelift surgery provides the best results in women and men who experience changes in the shape of their lower face and neck and who seek an effective and lasting solution. Dr. Tansavatdi carefully screens each patient to determine their candidacy. It is important to be honest about your medical history in order to minimize the risk of any complications during and after surgery.

How Is Facelift Surgery Performed?

woman with facelift procedureDr. Tansavatdi performs several types of face lift surgery procedures, depending on her patient’s individual needs. Facelift procedures vary in the type of incision, the number of tissue layers treated and the degree of invasiveness. In general, Dr. Tansavatdi creates an incision in front of and behind the ear, which may extend into the scalp. During the next step of the procedure, Dr. Tansavatdi separates the facial skin from the underlying tissue and lifts the deeper layers. She tightens the facial muscles and removes excess fat and skin. The skin is then returned to its original position and sutured in place. After closing the incisions, Dr. Tansavatdi applies surgical dressings to the face to protect the wounds and minimize swelling.

Facelift surgery is performed under moderate sedation or general anesthesia at an accredited outpatient facility or a hospital. Patients return home the same day and are carefully monitored by Dr. Tansavatdi and her team.

Facelift Recovery

Facelift surgery involves different phases of recovery. Final results are achieved within four months; however, patients are able to return to work and other non-strenuous activities within two weeks. In the first few days after surgery, swelling, bruising and mild discomfort are common. Detailed postoperative instructions and meticulous aftercare are provided to each patient.
