FACELIFT IN CALABASAS
Facial aging can cause a great deal of self-consciousness, especially in today’s image-conscious, onscreen society. People are living longer and accomplishing more later in life than ever before, and these clients want to look as youthful and energetic as they feel on the inside.
A facelift can successfully correct the signs of aging, such as sagging skin, jowling, wrinkles, and stubborn fat pockets around the jaw. When performed by a trusted, experienced board-certified plastic surgeon such as Dr. Tansavatdi, facelift surgery can result in beautifully tightened contours, a more relaxed and well-rested countenance, and a surge in self-confidence.
What is a facelift?
Technically called rhytidectomy, a facelift is a popular procedure around the world for creating a more youthful, engaging appearance. During surgery, excess fat, skin and tissue are removed and the deep SMAS muscles of the face are tightened. The end result is a more attractive facial appearance that looks just like you, only more relaxed and open.
While a facelift can go a long way in reducing the signs of aging, it is often combined with procedures to address the upper portion of the face, such as blepharoplasty and brow lift. It may also be paired with dermal fillers and injectables, which can combat volume loss, lines and wrinkles while your facelift works to rejuvenate the cheeks, jawline and jowls.
How is a facelift performed?
During your initial consultation, Dr. Tanasavatdi will evaluate your face and listen to your concerns, formulating an approach that addresses your unique cosmetic needs. She will explain your options for surgery in depth, going over the risks and benefits so that you can move forward fully informed and empowered.
On the day of surgery, our board-certified anesthesiologist will administer general anesthesia to ensure you sleep soundly throughout your procedure. The doctor will then create small incisions that are well-hidden within the hairline and the folds of the ears. She will tighten the underlying facial muscles, remove unwanted fat and tissue, and redrape the skin in a more pleasing position. If the patient desires, Dr. Tansavatdi can perform other facial treatments at the same time, such as blepharoplasty, brow lift or neck lift surgery to effect more comprehensive improvements.

Am I a good candidate?
Facelifts are typically performed on clients between the ages of 40 and 65, although older clients can successfully undergo the procedure provided they are healthy enough. If sagging facial contours, wrinkles and excess fat are obscuring your innate beauty, a facelift may be an excellent solution for rolling back the hands of time – or at least pausing them!
Good candidates for surgery are non-smokers who are free from significant health concerns that might interfere with their surgery. They are realistic in their expectations, seeking improvement rather than demanding perfection.
