FaceTite: The Non-Surgical Facelift and Neck Lift

Everyone wants to retain a healthy and youthful appearance for as long as we possibly can, but no matter how careful we are about sun protection and our skincare routine, we simply can’t fight the effects of genetics, gravity, and the general aging process forever. Fortunately, there are solutions that can greatly improve our appearance as we begin to age. Westlake Village facial surgeon Dr. Tansavatdi uses FaceTite™,  a “non-surgical facelift”, to tighten sagging skin and reduce unwanted fat. She also often uses NeckTite™ in addition. For Neck Wrinkle and Neck Lines Treatment in Westlake Village, this non-surgical option may be right for you. After carefully examining your face and neck, Dr. Tansavatdi will explain how FaceTite can address your concerns, and what type of results you should expect.

What can FaceTite Accomplish?

FaceTite and NeckTite are advanced, non-invasive alternatives to a facelift or neck lift. These procedures take less than 90 minutes to perform and deliver results that last five years or more. FaceTite and NeckTite have the ability to treat anywhere above the shoulders that have excess fat or sagging skin. Common treatment areas include:

  • Turkey wattle
  • Jawline and jowls
  • Neck bands
  • Forehead
  • Heavy brows
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Cheeks

Why get FaceTite?

Maturing skin undergoes many changes, and the most prominent are visible on your face and neck. As the years pass, collagen and elastin production slows, and your skin becomes more delicate and loses elasticity. Fine lines appear, then deeper wrinkles, then finally pronounced folds and creases. You may notice fat in places it never used to be, or loose skin that droops down from your neck and jaw. Aging is a reality everyone faces, but thanks to innovations such as FaceTite, we can fight the aging process and still look our best. FaceTite can take years off your appearance and give you a renewed confidence.

How does FaceTite work?

FaceTite uses radiofrequency technology to refine the face and neck. This is the same technology that has been safely used in MRI machines and other medical treatments for more than 75 years. Radiofrequency energy generates a gentle heating effect when it is delivered beneath the skin. The heat safely melts fat in localized problem areas and causes the skin to contract. It also stimulates the formation of collagen, which is a key structural protein found in the skin, to ensure your skin remains tight for years after the treatment. FaceTite is powered by radiofrequency-assisted liposuction (RFAL) technology to provide safer and more effective remodeling of the tissue.

Like traditional liposuction, the FaceTite procedure involves the use of a hollow tube called a cannula to remove fat. With RFAL, radiofrequency energy is transmitted from an internal cannula to an external electrode to liquefy fat and promote collagen growth. The energy only travels through the tissue that is between the cannula and the electrode, ensuring that there is no risk of thermal injury to any surrounding areas. Additional built-in safeguards include audible feedback and real-time measurements of skin and fat temperature.

What are the advantages of FaceTite?

As a non-surgical procedure, FaceTite has a much shorter and more comfortable recovery period than a traditional facelift. There are no stitches, almost no scars, and minimal risk of nerve damage. The procedure is performed in our office using local anesthetic with minor sedation (such as what you might receive for a colonoscopy or wisdom teeth removal), so there is also no risk of complications from general anesthesia.

Unlike a traditional facelift, FaceTite stimulates the formation of collagen. This means your skin can remain tight for five years, or even more. If you’re in the Thousand Oaks and Westlake Village area and you’re seeking natural-looking results that refresh your look with less pain, downtime and expense than a facelift or neck lift, FaceTite may be an ideal solution for you.

Facetite VS. Facelift

Both FaceTite and a traditional facelift are both designed to stave off and reverse the signs of aging. But for those who want to restore the firm, smooth skin of their youth, which procedure is best?

After evaluating your face and neck, Dr. Tansavatdi will advise you whether a FaceTite procedure, a facelift, a neck lift, and/or another procedure would better meet your aesthetic goals.

Facetite

FaceTite is often referred to as a “non-surgical facelift”. It can be a great option for patients who are not candidates for surgery, or who do not want to undergo a more invasive procedure. It can also be a good choice for patients who are looking to achieve subtle changes rather than a dramatic transformation.

Facelift

Then there are some patients who have extensive sagging in the lower half of their face or neck. FaceTite does not treat these deeper tissues, so it may not deliver the degree of firming and rejuvenation required to address these issues. A facelift and/or neck lift would likely provide more significant and longer-lasting results in this case.

The FaceTite procedure

FaceTite is performed using a special handpiece that enables Dr. Tansavatdi to contract and contour the tissues under your skin in a way that is safe and flatters your face. Local anesthetic or minor sedation will be administered to keep you comfortable.

Small incisions are made near the treatment area, and the cannula portion of the handpiece is inserted. The device then sends radiofrequency waves through the tissue to tighten and tone the skin and melt stubborn fat. When the treatment is complete, the cannula is removed. The incisions are so small that no sutures are needed,10 and virtually no scar is left behind.

Who is a good candidate for FaceTite and NeckTite?

If you’re in the Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks area and you’re interested in a non-surgical facelift or neck lift, you may be a great candidate for FaceTite and/or NeckTite. Women and men with deep lines, excess fat, and loose skin on their face and neck are potential candidates for treatment with FaceTite and/or NeckTite. The procedure performed on its own may be a good solution for individuals who have mild to moderate sagging and localized pockets of fat, but are not yet concerned with issues in their upper face.

For advanced sagging and other signs of aging, a surgical procedure may be a more appropriate choice. FaceTite can also provide an effective maintenance touch-up for patients who have already had a facelift and want to maintain their results without additional surgery. Anyone considering FaceTite must be in good health and have reasonable expectations for the outcome. Before any treatment, Dr. Tansavatdi will meet with you in a consultation to review your concerns and goals, medical history, and suitability for the procedure.

Enhancing the results of your FaceTite treatment

Our Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks patients often want to know if FaceTite can be performed with other procedures. The answer is yes. During your consultation, Dr. Tansavatdi will discuss your aesthetic goals and how to best achieve the look you desire. Many of our Westlake Village facial plastic surgery patients choose to combine FaceTite with other procedures to create a more youthful and rested appearance. Your personalized anti-aging treatment plan may involve other minimally-invasive or non-invasive rejuvenation treatments such as dermal fillers or wrinkle-relaxing injections that have been carefully selected to meet your goals. Dr. Tansavatdi can also perform FaceTite during a facelift for more thorough rejuvenation of your appearance.

FaceTite recovery

You will be able to return home and resume your regular activities shortly after your FaceTite procedure is complete. You may experience some swelling, tenderness, and redness in the initial healing period, but these conditions are temporary. You can expect these to resolve within 3 to 5 days. Dr. Tansavatdi will advise you to wear a compression garment following your FaceTite treatment to minimize swelling. You will receive complete instructions that explain her recommendations for aftercare and any limitations to physical activity.

Life after FaceTite

You will start seeing results 2 to 3 weeks after your FaceTite procedure. Over time, your results will get better and better as new collagen is formed and your skin grows increasingly firm and toned. Optimal results will be apparent 3 to 6 months after treatment, and can continue to improve over one year. Most patients need only one FaceTite treatment to achieve an attractive and natural looking outcome. Because FaceTite stimulates the formation of your body’s collagen, the results are long lasting. Your skin can remain tight for five years or more following the treatment.
