BOTOX® and Dysport® are two similar products used to temporarily treat signs of facial aging. BOTOX® in Westlake Village / Thousand Oaks

BOTOX® is made of a neurotoxin, botulinum toxin type A. It is used to temporarily paralyze wrinkle-causing facial muscles, thereby halting the aging process and diminishing existing telltale signs of aging. BOTOX® is an excellent treatment option for individuals who wish to reduce the appearance of frown lines or “furrows” between the eyebrows and horizontal lines across the forehead. BOTOX® can also be used for crow’s feet and unsightly neck bands.

Patients are able to return to their usual activities right away. Subtle swelling or bruising at the injection sites is common and subsides quickly over 24 to 48 hours. BOTOX® results are not immediate and will take two to seven days to take effect. Results last anywhere from three to six months.

Dysport® in Westlake Village / Thousand Oaks

Dysport® is very similar to BOTOX® and essentially delivers the same results. However, BOTOX® and Dysport® differ in preparation and dosing. Some patients may respond better to Dysport® than BOTOX® and vice versa, depending on their unique aesthetic needs. Like BOTOX®, Dysport® impairs contraction of certain facial muscles, thereby diminishing moderate to severe wrinkles and lines.

Dysport® may be administered with a numbing solution for maximum patient comfort; treatment time lasts about 10 to 15 minutes. Dysport® results become visible within one to two days and can last anywhere from three to six months.
