Our Philosophy: Structure Over Filling
Not every sign of facial aging should be treated with filler. As the face ages, changes occur in the skin, fat, bone, ligaments, muscles, and deeper support structures. Volume loss may be part of the picture, but it is rarely the whole story. When filler is used too broadly or too aggressively, it can blur natural contours, weigh down the face, and create fullness that does not truly restore a younger or more rested appearance. This is why Dr. Kristina Tansavatdi does not believe in the popular concept of “facial balancing” as it is often presented in aesthetic medicine.
The face is not a checklist of proportions to correct. It is an expression of identity. At Tansavatdi Facial Plastic Surgery, injectable treatments are used to support the face — not overwhelm it. Dr. Tansavatdi focuses on where structure has changed, where support may be helpful, and where restraint is the most important part of the plan. For some patients, this may mean using Sculptra to gradually encourage collagen support. For others, it may mean using very small amounts of hyaluronic acid filler in highly specific areas. In many cases, the best recommendation may be to avoid filler in certain regions altogether.
