Forma and Forma Plus

Forma and Forma Plus are non-invasive procedures that use radiofrequency heat to contract the deep layers of your skin. These procedures stimulate your body to produce collagen, with no pain or downtime. How do Forma and Forma Plus work?

Forma and Forma Plus stimulate the production of collagen, which makes skin smoother and more elastic. The first part of the treatment is applying a cool, conductive gel to the area being treated. Next, Dr. Kristina Tansavatdi uses a hand-held device to gently massage your skin and allow the heat to penetrate deep below your skin’s surface. The combination of the conductive gel and radiofrequency heat promotes the production of collagen, which restores a tighter, more youthful look to your skin. Both Forma and Forma Plus use the same technology. However, Forma uses a smaller, more contoured head that is designed specifically for your face and neck.

What areas of the body can Forma and Forma Plus treat?

Forma is used for skin on the face to treat forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, marionette lines, crepe-like lower eyelid skin, malar bags, wrinkles around the mouth, jowls, and loose skin on the neck. Forma Plus is used to treat saggy skin on the arms, midsection, inner thighs, outer thighs, elbows and knees.

How long do Forma and Forma Plus treatments take?

Your appointment time is typically an hour, however, it will vary depending on the number of areas being treated. For optimal success, Dr. Tansavatdi recommends weekly treatments for six to eight weeks. At your consultation, Dr. Tansavatdi will explain the length of your appointment, the number of treatments needed, and when maintenance sessions will be required.

How safe is Forma and Forma Plus?

Forma and Forma Plus are extremely safe when administered by a qualified plastic surgeon such as Dr. Tansavatdi. The procedure is based on a proprietary method of delivering radiofrequency energy called A.C.E. (Acquire, Control, and Extend). The Forma and Forma Plus technology includes a built-in sensor that monitors the temperature of your skin 1,000 times per second. This technology assures that your skin reaches the optimal temperature for collagen production and will activate a cut-off switch if your skin temperature is too high. Forma and Forma Plus do not use lasers and are safe for all skin types.

How long does it take to see results?

Our patients will see results immediately following their first or second session. Full results will be apparent after their final treatment.

Am I a good candidate for Forma and Forma Plus?

Good candidates for Forma and Forma Plus will have sagging skin due to aging or weight loss, as well as have realistic expectations for their treatment.

Are Forma and Forma Plus treatments painful?

No. Our patients report feeling a warm, relaxing, massage-like sensation on the area being treated. Please note that some patients do experience mild flushing of their skin following a treatment.

Are the results of Forma and Forma Plus permanent?

The results from Forma and Forma Plus last a lifetime. Unfortunately, the aging process continues even after Forma and Forma Plus treatments. For this reason, Dr. Tansavatdi recommends maintenance treatments every few months in order to preserve your youthful appearance.

Can Forma and Forma Plus be combined with other procedures?
